I AM
I AM a Public Speaker, Podcaster, hip-hop, reggae, and spoken word artist from Nashville, TN. My latest Ep R.B.G is an acronym that stands for Rise. Build. Grow. My music has inspired the streets to embrace health and wellness through lifestyle, leadership, and art.
โ
My first book, "Blkblood Vol.1 (From Prison To Prayer Through Poetry)" is now available on Amazon.
In my book, you will read all about my most chaotic experience and best memories through poems, pictures, and quotes. I am also the CEO and Founder of Recycle & Reinvest. My local non-profit Recycle and Reinvest pick-up trash in low-income neighborhoods for inner-city Nashville and youth mentor programs teaching leadership.
โ
I have overcome homelessness, abandonment, and prison. My life could have gone in a different direction, but instead, I’m proud that I am using those experiences to lead and help others.
I’m stronger because of my past and am using that strength to become a better human.
I joined Big Brothers Big Sisters in 2021 after realizing how positive mentoring can impact and cultivate the gifts and talents of youth. As a Big Cousin, I helped develop the role which provides an opportunity to reach out to youth waiting for their Match to be completed.
A Big Cousin gives the youth (we called them a Little) additional opportunities to increase their confidence and prepare them for their Match relationships. It also allows BBBS to assess their readiness, keep them interested, and determine the right criteria for their Match (called a Big).
I believe I am good at what I do because I work with the best of the best at Big Brothers Big Sisters. I get inspired working alongside my colleagues and like-minded dedicated people in our community.
My colleagues would describe me as:
- as a forward thinker, identifying the goals we need to reach.
- as a creative leader who finds ways to achieve our targets.
- as a hard worker, relentless in getting the work done.
In addition to my work as a Big Cousin, I am the Executive Director of Recycle and Reinvest. I started this organization because I believe engaging our vulnerable youth to improve their environment can increase their confidence and pride. Since 2018, Recycle and Reinvest has renovated 50+ neighborhoods and properties. Over 30 youths have gone through our mentoring and programs.
I was honored to receive the AAMM LYFE AWARD recently. This award recognizes someone who makes it their mission to give back to those in need and consistently goes the extra mile for others. I credit my family and extended family who have been supportive throughout my life and have significantly contributed to my well-being.
Outside of work, I’m a podcaster with Black Blood Voices. As its host, I lead inspired conversations primarily focused on Restorative Justice. I have also written a book, Blkblood Vol.1 — From Prison to Prayer through Poetry. I love to participate in music “jams” and the healing arts such as yoga when I can. I’ve also been told I have a natural talent for cooking!
The grace of God wakes me up in the morning. Every day, I am committed to a lifestyle based on forever improving.
“With confidence, you have won before you have started.” Marcus Garvey
